Recommended Containers:
4” and 6” pots, and Combination planters.
Consumer Uses:
Indoor pot plants, Combination patio containers, landscape and bedding plants.
Temperature Requirement:
Day - 65 to 75?F (18 to 21?C)
Night - 60 to 65?F (15 to 18?C)
Media and pH Requirement:
Keep evenly moist but not wet, use well drained soil mix with a pH range of 5.8 to 6.2.
Feed Requirements:
200 ppm N constant feed basis. Dahlias are sensitive to high soluble salts during short days. Avoid excessive ammonia nitrogen that will cause stem elongation and reduce flowering.
Growth Regulators:
1250 to 2500 ppm B-9 is effective to control stretch during low light conditions or when finishing pot to pot.
Light:
4500 to 6000 fc is optimal, under low light (2000 fc or less) supplement with 400 fc HID lights.
Pinching requirements: The Amazon series is more vigorous and a larger leafed series, but branches well.
Comments:
Plant liners deep into the soil – up to the first set of leaves. The Amazon series is a unique selection of larger bi-color flowers excellent for 5”- 6” pot production or mixed containers.
